                             BOARD OF DIRECTORS GENERAL MEETING SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2018

GUEST SPEAKER, ERIN MESSANO, PRESENTATION ON HOMECARE

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 10:02 AM, FOLLOWED BY PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

PRESENT:  DEE COSTOSO, JERRY BARBELLA, KATHY BECK, DIANNA BOWERS, CAROL PITMAN
ABSENT:   PRINCE OLANTUNJI

GENERAL MEETING MINUTES FOR MAY 5TH WERE POSTED
TREASURERS REPORT WAS READ BY DEE COSTOSO AND COMMITTEE REPORTS AS FOLLOWS:

MEMBERSHIP: CAROL PITMAN SIGNED 7 NEW PAID MEMBERS

BINGO:  DON GUGEL SAID NUMBERS WERE DOWN OVER SUMMER MONTHS, HOPING FALL WILL IMPROVE PARTICIPATION, CONSIDERING FOOD WED NITES?

WELCOME:  PAULA SOMMERS TURNED IN A REPORT TO DEE, ALL NEW RESIDENTS THROUGH JULY HAVE BEEN CONTACTED AND GIVEN “WELCOME BAGS”

RAC:  JERRY BARBELLA  REPORTED THE INDOOR POOL BATHROOM PROJECT IS ON HOLD DUE TO ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES.  NEXT MEETINGS 9/28-9/29.  ONGOING ISSUES IE:  LAWN LIGHTS, SPEED SIGNS, FLOODING, TRAFFIC PATTERNS, CARPET IN “PING PONG” ROOM & TREE PROBLEMS

OLD BUSINESS:  DUCT WORK INSPECTIONS AND REPAIRS ONGOING

NEW BUSINESS:  TIE DOWN PROGRAM, FREE INSPECTION UNDER HOUSE

TECO WILL PROVIDE PROGRAMABLE THERMOSTATS (DATES & COST TO BE ANNOUNCED)

COMMENTS FROM BOARD MEMBERS: 

 KATHY BECK ANNOUNCED THAT HEALTH FEST WILL HOST
NEW VENDORS, DANCING EVENTS, FREE FLUE SHOTS, ALONG WITH GIVEAWWAYS, FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS.  $5 LUNCH AVAILABLE, FREE COFFEE, TEA, BOTTLED WATER

COMMENTS FROM RESIDENTS:  MARTY EXPRESSED THE NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS AT THE VETERANS MEMORIAL

ROSE PANELLA ASKED TO BE CONTACTED REGARDING ANY CHANGES NEEDED FOR THE PHONE DIRECTORY.  SHE SAID TICKETS ARE $2 FOR THE HALLOWEEN PARTY ON OCTOBER 27TH AT 6PM AT CH SPONSORED BY CERT.  ALSO MENTIONED NEW “SUNSHINE LADY” COMING

THEN THE MEETING TURNED CONTENTUIOUS, WITH RESIDENTS DIRECTING PROVOCATIVE COMMENTS TO THE BOARD PRESIDENT,  “ YOU’RE A LIAR, DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING, YOU’RE PLANNING MOVIES TO TAKE AWAY FROM BINGO NIGHT, YOU DIDN’T ASK FOR VOLUNTEERS WHEN YOU SAID YOU DID, HAVING A SPEAKER PRIOR TO 10AM MEETING IMPOSING ON “SOCIAL HOUR” ETC.

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNER’S MEMBERSHIP

REASONS TO JOIN SRHOA: Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association is the only legal body accepted by The State of Florida to act on behalf of all residents of our park. SRHOA meets regularly with management and negotiates on behalf of all residents. SRHOA constantly evaluates and analyzes ways and means to improve our quality of life. SRHOA retains the services of legal counsel, who assists SRHOA to operate in a legal manner.

SRHA is your watch dog on important items such as; rent increases, changes in Strawberry Ridge rules and regulations, and other services. Should it be deemed that one or more items is improper, SRHA would negotiate, mediate or, if necessary, recommend litigation to protect the residents of Strawberry Ridge.

SRHA is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the voting members and consists of seven Di-rectors including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Paid membership also gives you the privilege to vote on issues as required. The Board is empowered by law to act on behalf of all members. The board establishes committees to carry out specific duties and programs each year such as:

Welcoming, Entertainment, Finance & Audit, Membership, Rent, RAC (Resident Advisory Council)

SRHOA also sponsors many social events throughout the year. Monthly coffee and donuts, the 4th of July cookout, and other holiday events are FREE to all residents.

SRHA also maintains an office with posted hours when selling tickets for events located in the Activity Center on Strawberry Ridge Blvd.

Remember there is strength in numbers. Membership in SRHA is only $6.00 per year or $15.00 for three years. Our membership runs from April 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year. This is an inexpensive way to protect your investment.
