2018 November 3 Meeting Minutes

 SRHA GENERAL MEETING MINUTES November 3, 2018

Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association, Inc.
General Meeting Minutes - November 3, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 10:06 AM by Board President Tom Beckmeyer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call, and Prayer. Present at the meeting were the following board members: Tom Beckmeyer, Kathy Beck, Victoria
Vilchez, Sharon McHenry, Carol Pitman, Debby LaBlance, and Terry Brown.

Minutes from the general meeting held Saturday, October 6, 2018 were read in their entirety along with the Minutes of the Special Meeting (held after the general meeting on Saturday, October 6, 2018 for the purpose of appointing new directors
to the Board) and also the Minutes of the new Board of Directors special meeting also held after the general meeting on Saturday, October 6, 2018. A Motion to Approve all said Minutes was made and seconded. The Motion carried.

The treasurer’s report was read by Sharon McHenry, and a copy of said report is
attached hereto. A motion to approve the report of the treasure was made and seconded, and the motion carried. 

The following committee reports were made:

Membership/Welcome- Carol Pitman- The committee is in the process of updating the welcome bag and any new residents will soon be receiving their welcome bag. Member renewal is still ongoing, with one new member renewal today.

Bingo- Rose Panella- Financial Report read. $3702.21. Question from resident regarding what the money in bingo account will be used for. Rose reported it is there for repair and/or replacement of the current equipment, if needed.

RAC- Alaine Carrera- No new issues to report, old issues being addressed. No RAC meeting this month.

Community Yard Sale/Neighborhood Watch- Lisa Stropes- Yard Sale to be held on November 10 from 8:00-1:00. There are over 40 homes participating, and there’s still time to sign up. SRHA donated $33 to assist with signs. 

Fundraising events:

Ice cream social went well, and so did Halloween Party. 

Wood shop- Debbie McAlpine- New equipment, able to make signs. Residents encouraged to come check out the shop. $20 per year membership.

Garden Club- Candy Say- Club did plants at Veterans Memorial. Management very supportive. Club meets first Tuesday of the month.

Rent Committee- Norm Loiselle 

After committee/club reports, the 50/50 was drawn.

New Business

- Resident suggestion to eliminate SRHA membership fees, would require change
to by-laws.

- Upcoming events announced

Motion to adjourn, seconded, motion carried. Meeting adjourned.

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNER’S MEMBERSHIP

REASONS TO JOIN SRHOA: Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association is the only legal body accepted by The State of Florida to act on behalf of all residents of our park. SRHOA meets regularly with management and negotiates on behalf of all residents. SRHOA constantly evaluates and analyzes ways and means to improve our quality of life. SRHOA retains the services of legal counsel, who assists SRHOA to operate in a legal manner.

SRHA is your watch dog on important items such as; rent increases, changes in Strawberry Ridge rules and regulations, and other services. Should it be deemed that one or more items is improper, SRHA would negotiate, mediate or, if necessary, recommend litigation to protect the residents of Strawberry Ridge.

SRHA is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the voting members and consists of seven Di-rectors including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Paid membership also gives you the privilege to vote on issues as required. The Board is empowered by law to act on behalf of all members. The board establishes committees to carry out specific duties and programs each year such as:

Welcoming, Entertainment, Finance & Audit, Membership, Rent, RAC (Resident Advisory Council)

SRHOA also sponsors many social events throughout the year. Monthly coffee and donuts, the 4th of July cookout, and other holiday events are FREE to all residents.

SRHA also maintains an office with posted hours when selling tickets for events located in the Activity Center on Strawberry Ridge Blvd.

Remember there is strength in numbers. Membership in SRHA is only $6.00 per year or $15.00 for three years. Our membership runs from April 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year. This is an inexpensive way to protect your investment.
