2018 November 19 Board Meeting Minutes

 SRHA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING - November 19, 2018

Board of Directors Meeting- Monday November 19, 2018

The meeting of the SRHA Board ofDirectors was called to order at 7:03 PM by Board President Tom Beckmeyer, followed by a roll call. The following board members were present: Tom Beckmeyer, Kathy Beck, Victoria Vilchez, Sharon
McHenry, Carol Pitman, Debby LaBlance, and Terry Brown.

Informal minutes consisting of a verbal summary (not transcribed) from the October board meeting held Monday, October 15, 2018 were discussed by Debby LaBlance. There was a motion to accept the verbal Minutes by Victoria Vilchez, seconded by Debby LaBlance, and motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report was read by Sharon McHenry. $18,887.57 (report attached) Kathy Beck moved to accept the report and Carol Pitman seconded. Motion carried.

Committee reports:

- Membership- letters will be going out to former members asking them to rejoin.
- Bingo- awaiting reimbursement
- Welcome- welcome bags are being put together, however short on supplies. So far 15 bags completed.
- RAC - No RAC meeting in November; nothing new to report. It was suggested that general manager Keith Stevens believes there will be a meeting with RAC and management on December 5 or 6.
- No other reports

Old Business- None


New Business:
- Bingo- Rose Panella requests $50 reimbursement, then modified request to $25.

Carol Pitman made Motion to approve, seconded by Kathy Beck. Motion carried.

New Year’s Eve party- Dee Costoso - to be presented by Movie Club. Suggested that profits after expenses be donated to Meals on Wheels. Request made for SRHA to sponsor and/or assist with party. $500 contribution requested. Tom
Beckmeyer stated would not agree to assist or sponsor because he doesn’t want to start something where every and any group/club who wants assistance will then expect to receive it.

- Resignation from Board- Vice President Kathy Beck submitted a written letter of resignation and excused herself from the meeting.

Verbal discussions followed as the meeting continued out of order.

There was a Motion to Adjourn made by Carol Pitman, seconded by Terry Brown. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNER’S MEMBERSHIP

REASONS TO JOIN SRHOA: Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association is the only legal body accepted by The State of Florida to act on behalf of all residents of our park. SRHOA meets regularly with management and negotiates on behalf of all residents. SRHOA constantly evaluates and analyzes ways and means to improve our quality of life. SRHOA retains the services of legal counsel, who assists SRHOA to operate in a legal manner.

SRHA is your watch dog on important items such as; rent increases, changes in Strawberry Ridge rules and regulations, and other services. Should it be deemed that one or more items is improper, SRHA would negotiate, mediate or, if necessary, recommend litigation to protect the residents of Strawberry Ridge.

SRHA is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the voting members and consists of seven Di-rectors including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Paid membership also gives you the privilege to vote on issues as required. The Board is empowered by law to act on behalf of all members. The board establishes committees to carry out specific duties and programs each year such as:

Welcoming, Entertainment, Finance & Audit, Membership, Rent, RAC (Resident Advisory Council)

SRHOA also sponsors many social events throughout the year. Monthly coffee and donuts, the 4th of July cookout, and other holiday events are FREE to all residents.

SRHA also maintains an office with posted hours when selling tickets for events located in the Activity Center on Strawberry Ridge Blvd.

Remember there is strength in numbers. Membership in SRHA is only $6.00 per year or $15.00 for three years. Our membership runs from April 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year. This is an inexpensive way to protect your investment.
