BOARD OF DIRECTORS GENERAL MEETING MARCH 3, 2018



MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY DEE COSTOSO AT 10:03 AM, 
FOLLOWED BY PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.

PRESENT: DEE COSTOSO, JERRY BARBELLA. KATHY BECK, CAROL PTIMAN, DIANNA BOWERS

TREASURER’S REPORT READ BY DEE COSTOSO, COPIES TO BOARD MEMBERS

FEBRUARY GENERAL MEETING MINUTES WERE POSTED, MOTION TO ACCEPT BY JIM CELEST, SECONDED BY SUE AMBROSE.

GENERAL ELECTION QUORUM WAS MET, ALAINE CARRERA PRESENTED CANDIDATES. DEE THANKED THE COMMITTEE FOR THEIR SERVICE.

MEMBERSHIP: CAROL PITMAN SAID 127 PAYING MEMBERS AT PRESENT WITH TWO NEW MEMBERS
BINGO: ROSE PANELLA GAVE BALANCE OF $3,470, BALANCE SHEET GIVEN TO DEE
WELCOME: PAULA SOMMERS INFORMED DEE THAT NEW RESIDENTS CONTACTS WERE UP TO DATE
RAC: GERRY BARABELLA REPORTS TOWN HALL MEETING DISCUSSED ONGOING ISSUES IE: SIGNS, LIGHTING, LANDSCAPING, FLOWERS, GATE, FENCING, ETC. NEXT MTG MAY 30TH

BOARD COMMENTS
DEE REMINDED CLUBS NEED NOT REPORT TO SRHA (EXCEPT FOR BINGO)

RESIDENTS COMMENTS
RESIDENTS EXPRESSED OPINIONS REGARDING CLOSING THE MULRENNAN GATE AT A LATER TIME. A MOTION WAS MADE BY A RESIDENT TO EXTEND THE CLOSING OF THE GATE TO 8PM. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED AND A HAND VOTE WAS TAKEN. THE RESULTS WERE 25 YES AND 17 NO. DEE EXPRESSED THAT THE GATE ISSUE WAS NOT ON THE AGENDA AND THAT THIS WAS NOT CORRECT PROCEDURE. DEE STATED ALL RESIDENTS SHOULD HAVE A CHANCE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION AND THAT THIS ISSUE WILL BE TAKEN UP AT THE APRIL 7TH MEEING.
DEE PROPOSED THE SUBJECT BE ADDED TO THE AGENDA FOR NEXT GENERAL MEETING APRIL 7TH

ANOTHER RESIDENT SUGGESTED THE SR SIGN SHOW “55 PLUS COMMUNITY”

THE RESIDENTS PRESENT APPLAUDED ROSE PANELLA FOR HER EFFORTS; THE NEW STAGE CURTAINS LOOK GREAT AND SHE SAVED MANY $$, ALLOWING PURCHASE OF 60” FLAT SCREEN FOR ACTIVITY CENTER.

ELECTION
BALLOTS WERE COUNTED AND 5 CANDIDATES ELECTED TO SERVE  THE 7 MEMBER SRHA BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS AS FOLLOWS:

DEE COSTOSO, JERRY BARBELLA, KATHY BECK, CAROL PITMAN, DIANNA BOWERS, SUE AMBROSE, AND PRINCE OLATUNJI
DEE COSTOSO THANKED THE BALLOT COUNTERS.

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNER’S MEMBERSHIP

REASONS TO JOIN SRHOA: Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association is the only legal body accepted by The State of Florida to act on behalf of all residents of our park. SRHOA meets regularly with management and negotiates on behalf of all residents. SRHOA constantly evaluates and analyzes ways and means to improve our quality of life. SRHOA retains the services of legal counsel, who assists SRHOA to operate in a legal manner.

SRHA is your watch dog on important items such as; rent increases, changes in Strawberry Ridge rules and regulations, and other services. Should it be deemed that one or more items is improper, SRHA would negotiate, mediate or, if necessary, recommend litigation to protect the residents of Strawberry Ridge.

SRHA is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the voting members and consists of seven Di-rectors including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Paid membership also gives you the privilege to vote on issues as required. The Board is empowered by law to act on behalf of all members. The board establishes committees to carry out specific duties and programs each year such as:

Welcoming, Entertainment, Finance & Audit, Membership, Rent, RAC (Resident Advisory Council)

SRHOA also sponsors many social events throughout the year. Monthly coffee and donuts, the 4th of July cookout, and other holiday events are FREE to all residents.

SRHA also maintains an office with posted hours when selling tickets for events located in the Activity Center on Strawberry Ridge Blvd.

Remember there is strength in numbers. Membership in SRHA is only $6.00 per year or $15.00 for three years. Our membership runs from April 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year. This is an inexpensive way to protect your investment.
