2018 December 17 Board Meeting Minutes

 SRHA BOARD MEETING - December 17, 2018

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
Board of Directors Meeting
December 17, 2018


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Tom Beckmeyer
ATTENDANCE: Present: Tom Beckmeyer, Terry Brown, Sharon McHenry, Debbie LaBlance, Carol Pittman, Fred Pollman,
Absent: None
The Board appointed Jean DiBeneditto as Secretary of the Board to replace Vickie Vilchez, who resigned.
All in favor.
Jean then joined the Board

MINUTES: Minutes of the November meeting were read by the secretary
No comments.
MOTION by Carol Pittman, second by Fred Pollman to accept the minutes as read.
All in favor Motion carried

TREASURER’S REPORT: Sharon McHenry gave the Treasurer’s report. She said that the Legal Fund be listed on a separate report from now on. Motion by Terry Brown, seconded by Fred Pollman to accept the Treasurer’s report for November as presented. All in favor Motion carried

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Membership: Letters went out to all paid members whose membership has expired.
RAC: Management agreed to repair the lamp post by the pool. Mgmt also repaired the back fence. Items still in process are: Lift Station near Meteor Place; mosquito spraying—You can call the county to request it.
Other: No other reports from other committees

OLD BUSINESS: Tom B said the clubs who requested it, got $25 from the HOA for Christmas.
Keith gave ½ of the expenses for Thanksgiving to the HOA.
Carol Pittman has updated the Membership List.
Golf Cart Christmas Parade was a success.
NEW BUSINESS: FLOW will be here on February 8
Sing-Along on December 22 at clubhouse
Christmas at home dinner on December 25 from 1-3PM. Menu will be Ham and Prime Rib
Vendor’s Fair will be March 15. Debbie and Fred will help to set up.

OTHER BUSINESS: The Bridges will be coming to Strawberry Ridge on the second Monday of each month to
offer a craft to do. Mary Kendall will coordinate.

STRAWBERRY RIDGE HOMEOWNER’S MEMBERSHIP

REASONS TO JOIN SRHOA: Strawberry Ridge Homeowners Association is the only legal body accepted by The State of Florida to act on behalf of all residents of our park. SRHOA meets regularly with management and negotiates on behalf of all residents. SRHOA constantly evaluates and analyzes ways and means to improve our quality of life. SRHOA retains the services of legal counsel, who assists SRHOA to operate in a legal manner.

SRHA is your watch dog on important items such as; rent increases, changes in Strawberry Ridge rules and regulations, and other services. Should it be deemed that one or more items is improper, SRHA would negotiate, mediate or, if necessary, recommend litigation to protect the residents of Strawberry Ridge.

SRHA is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the voting members and consists of seven Di-rectors including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Paid membership also gives you the privilege to vote on issues as required. The Board is empowered by law to act on behalf of all members. The board establishes committees to carry out specific duties and programs each year such as:

Welcoming, Entertainment, Finance & Audit, Membership, Rent, RAC (Resident Advisory Council)

SRHOA also sponsors many social events throughout the year. Monthly coffee and donuts, the 4th of July cookout, and other holiday events are FREE to all residents.

SRHA also maintains an office with posted hours when selling tickets for events located in the Activity Center on Strawberry Ridge Blvd.

Remember there is strength in numbers. Membership in SRHA is only $6.00 per year or $15.00 for three years. Our membership runs from April 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year. This is an inexpensive way to protect your investment.
